::The first experiments

The first succes was in 1981 with clones on mammals by James Mc Garth and Davor Saltor. They remove the cell core out of a young mouse embryo and implanted these in a coreless ovule. This technique was different than the coretransplantation, cause of the use of the Sendai-virus. This virus lets its own coating smelt with another cel membrane. By manipulating this virus they were able to melt these donorcells with empty ovules. The result was kind of dissapointed in the beginning (cause the embryos were too old). They've divided too often. Apparently the embryos of the mouse were after the second stage not suitable anymore. After finding that out the experiment was a succes. Hereafter they began cloning with elektrofusion. Hereby they fuse the ovule with the donorcel with a little elektric shock. They've used it for the first time in 1986 in America with sheepembryos. The first clone was known as Dolly.
